The most common methods of granite processing include: sawing, grinding and polishing, bushhammered, chiseling, and flaming.
1) Sawing processing is to cut granite rough blocks into slabs (generally with a thickness of 20mm or 10mm) or semi-finished products in strips, blocks, and other shapes using a stone sawing machine. This process needs to be completed through several steps, first rough grinding and leveling, then gradually through semi-fine grinding, fine grinding, precision grinding, and polishing, to fully display the original color, pattern, and gloss of the granite, and achieve the best decorative effect. 3) Cutting processing is to cut and process the wool board or polished board into the required size and shape with a cutting machine. Common equipment for cutting processing includes vertical multi-saw cutting machines, horizontal cutting machines, bridge cutting machines, cantilever cutting machines, hand-operated cutting machines, etc.
4) Chiseling processing is a traditional processing method, that processes the blank into the required product through methods such as wedge splitting, chiseling, chopping, finishing, and polishing, and its surface can be rock face, mesh face, hammer face, or smooth face. Commonly used hand tools for processing include hammers, choppers, chisels, and gouges. Some processing processes can use stone splitting machines, stone planing machines, automatic hammer chiseling machines, automatic sandblasting machines, etc.
5) Flame treatment, also known as flame jet treatment, is the use of the different thermal expansion coefficients of the mineral particles that make up granite. By using a flame jet to heat the surface particles, they become loose and fall off, forming a rough and orderly decorative pattern. This type of rough granite slab is suitable for non-slip flooring and outdoor wall decoration. Common equipment includes automatic granite flame treatment machines.
The processing methods of stone materials are diverse. As buyers, we only need to instruct the stone manufacturers to process according to our direct needs. The steps, processes, and time required for different processing methods are different, so the prices vary. Generally speaking, the more complex the processing procedures and the smaller the specifications of granite stone, the higher the price compared to normal slab stone.
